Lovely Lena

Have you ever met someone and just knew you were meant to be friends? Lena is a fellow local photographer whom I (Sheva) met over the internet. Oh, wow, the world wide web reaching out to connect people everyday. Mind boggling! Lena is not only beautiful but also does beautiful photography work (photography by lena). She is pregnant with her fourth child and had some shots in mind and wanted me to be her maternity photographer. I was hopeful that I would capture what she had in mind, while bringing my own perspective in. She is absolutely beautiful and so are her children. I am so blessed to have met her and her kiddos. I am so excited to keep in touch and play with our cameras more with one another!
Lena, you are lovely and such a hip mama!

Let's keep this friendship going girlfriend!

Jess and Nate Engagement

Jessica and Nate flew in from Cali for Thanksgiving weekend and we had the honor of taking their engagement photos. They were a joy to work with. We've photographed Jessica before, but this was our first time meeting Nate. They are so in love and that really comes through on film! Thank you so much for the opportunity to take your engagement pics and we look forward to the Wedding Fall 2009. You guys ROCK! Can you feel the love?!?!?!

Zoe in Bright Gloves

October has been so much fun, and busy busy busy. My dad gave me a fixed 50mm lens and here are a few shots we got when playing around with the new lens with our oldest Zoe as the model in a cool hat and colorful gloves.
This last one is soooo cool to me, and her baby brother who is 3 took this one below!

Hobo Venicio on the tracks

While our 1998 VW Jetta was broken down I took the opportunity to take our three year old down to the local train tracks (which are not currently operating). Venice picked out his overalls and t-shirt and I suggested his skull huggalugs on the arms and fire flame leggings for his legs. We took an old yellow bandana, stuffed it with a winter beanie and tied it to a stick on the side off the side of the road. We had so much fun playing on the tracks, BUT I was so scared of letting him get too comfortable with playing on train tracks. We won't go to the tracks again anytime soon, but it was so worth it to get some shots that are now framed on our living room wall. :D

Sassy Suzanne

Suzanne and her parents were over for dinner, and I had the backdrop over in the corner of the living room. She took my son's puzzle peices with her to the backdrop and I snapped a few snaps. How could I not share this shot on here?!

Polkadot Piper

Piper! Isn't that such a fun name?!?!?! Piper is also going to be a tutu model in our upcoming tutu model project. She is such a dear girl and I'm so happy to have been able to capture some images of her at this phase in her life. Piper, you are a doll and I can't wait to get to get together and take pics of you the tutu outfit!

Corbin 3 mos

Meet our nephew Corbin. Corbin is so precious. We had the pleasure of taking his mom's maternity pics, as well as his newborn pics. We are looking forward to watching Corbin grow and documenting his milestones on film as we watch. Look at this lil model ;-)

We love you Corbin!!

Dougles Family Session

Some coworkers of mine saw self family portraits in my office and they told me that they've been looking for a photographer. They asked if I would be interested in taking their family photos. Of course I was interested! This couple has been so friendly and they bring a smile to my face everytime I see them. I am looking forward to taking their girls pictures for a tutu project that is in the works, at which time you will see more pics of the lil girls in this family :D

Beautiful Bella

September was a good time with some new school clothes to have a minishoot with our middle child Bella! She is so fun to work with. Here are my favorite few shots from that minisession:

newborn session with baby nathalie

She's so tiny yet she still gave me a smile!

Don't you love watching them scrunch their face to yawn at this age? I surely do.
I like the way she is looking down in this one into the direction of the pearls. I also enjoy her red hair with the greens, whites and pinks!
She was so adorable and so cooperative! This was a mini session and we came up with more great images than we planned on. I love to capture this time for the parents and kids to cherish for years upon years.
I'm already looking forward to what we will come up with for her 6 month session!

oh to find time to blog! Carter's September Session.

I believe this will be a once a month or so update site for us. Life is pretty busy but I still want to share some recent photos we've taken! I'll start with Carter's September session!
Look at those bright blue eyes!
Louie took the following. I just love the angles he gets. :D

See you in a couple of weeks Carter!

June 28 2008

These are two of my favorite snaps of our son from a birthday party June 2008 taken with a point and shoot fujifilm camera. I love his expressions and how he's asking with his eyes if it's okay to eat the cupcake. :-D

We recently took a quick trip to Alabama where I (Sheva) am from. I spent a while at my cousins house and wanted to share these two pics of these two sweet honeys.

maternity august 29th

This next session I want to share is very special indeed. She had a vision in a dream for her 'perfect maternity shot' with her husband (photo she envisioned is not below). She booked the session 2 weeks before their sons due date, and we just barely made it in time! They came over on Friday night and she went into labor the very next morning. Here are some of my favorite belly shots from that session. Once I speak with her I will find out her favorite and post that as well! For now I'll share a few of these belly shots only :D
I am truely looking forward to the newborn session with their new baby boy Bryson!

first post - finally

After having a Blogspot since the SPRING, I am finally adding my first post. I would like to go ahead and update for the past couple sessions while I'm at it. This will be my starting point. These posts will primarily come from me (sheva) although the site is representing work from both my husband (louie) and myself! Although we are not always both present for a photo session we are a photography team & we work together on each photoshoot in one way or another from the first snap to the final edit! We both have a vision for our work and love combining our creativity.

We have a new friend that we have met through photography. She and her son have been coming to us monthly since her first appointment when he was 5 mos old so that we can 'document' his growth and phases during the first year! Her son is so adorable and always a pleasure to work with. It has been a joy to watch him grow in the 5 months we have known him. She tells us she loves the natural captures that we get of her and her son.

Here are some images from the most recent session with them!

These next shots were completely Louie's idea and I puzzled them together into this collage. It captures this time where he keeps trying to escape from mom and explore! Every mom has grabbed for their childs legs like this at some point in time. Come back here, we are trying to take a picture...hehe. look at how much satisfaction is written on his face while trying to run (crawl) off.

He is sooo adorable. Every month I do a collage similar to the one below for her. This is a combonation of pics that both I and my husband took of them during the August photo session.
